Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

This policy covers Modscaper — the website at modscaper.com and the iPhone app.

What we collect

  • Your email address, for sign-in codes and account emails.
  • Car photos you upload, the designs we make from them, and what you choose for each design — the style, color and finish, and any instructions you type. A photo can show a license plate, a home or people; crop them out first if you’d rather not share them.
  • An optional year, make and model, used only for that design and sent with it to Google’s AI. We don’t save that field on our servers.
  • Your shop name and “how did you hear about us” answer, if you give them — and on the Shop plan, the quote email, phone number and website you add for your customer links.
  • On the Shop plan, the quote requests your customers send from your links (see Quote requests below).
  • Purchase records — what you bought, when, and whether it’s active — from our payment processor (website) or from Apple (iPhone app). We never see your card or your Apple payment details.
  • Usage records linked to your account, such as when you sign up, make a design or buy something, so we can run and improve Modscaper. Page views are counted separately with cookie-free analytics.
  • Short-lived counts of your requests, so one person or script can’t overload Modscaper or use up the free demo. They’re labeled with a scrambled, one-way code made from your network (IP) address or account ID — never the address or ID itself. Per-minute counts expire within minutes and daily ones after about a day, and expired counts are deleted every night. When a Shop trial starts, its usage record keeps that code for the network it came from, so many trials from one network stand out.

Your photos and Google’s AI

To create a design, your car photo — with the choices above — is sent to Google’s AI. Your photo and the finished design are also sent to Google’s AI to find the car, its license plates, badges and lettering, so they can be kept as they were; nothing extra is stored for this. The finished design also goes to Google’s AI to write its build sheet — the parts and finishes it shows. Before your first design on each device, the app asks your permission, and nothing is sent unless you allow it. The answer is kept on that device. Signed in, you can withdraw it there any time in Account → AI photo permission; your next design on that device then asks again (do it on each phone or browser you’ve used). Withdrawing doesn’t remove designs already made — they stay in your account until you delete it.

License plates. The first time you make a shared link for a design or download it, your photo and the design are sent to Google’s AI once more to find any license plates, so we can blur them. Where the plates are, and the blurred copies, are stored privately next to the originals. Shared links, their preview images and downloads use the blurred copies; your own history shows the originals. We blur the license plates we can find — one at a steep angle, partly hidden or very small can be missed, so check before you share. You can turn this off with Blur license plates when I share or download in Account.

We use Google’s paid service, so Google doesn’t use your photos to train its AI models. Google may keep requests for a limited time to detect abuse, as its terms allow.

Where your designs are kept

The free demo stores no photos or designs — your photo and the design go back to your device without being saved. With an account, your photos and designs are stored privately and only you can see them (through short-lived links), so your designs follow you across devices. If you create a shared link for a design, anyone with that link can see that design’s before and after until you turn the link off.

You can delete a single design any time from its page in your history. That removes its photos, its shared link and any quote requests for it right away, and can’t be undone.

Quote requests on a shop’s link

A shop on our Shop plan can send its customers a link to a design, and that page can show a Request a quote form. If you use it, we store what you enter — your name, the email address and/or phone number you give, and your message — along with a scrambled, one-way code made from your network (IP) address that helps us stop spam. We keep them only to get your request to that shop: we show it with the design in the shop’s account. We don’t use your details for anything else, and we don’t sell them or add you to any mailing list of ours.

Once the shop has your request, the shop is responsible for how it uses your details — ask the shop directly if you want them changed or removed from its own records. We delete the request from Modscaper when the shop deletes that design or its account, and in any case 12 months after you sent it. To have it removed sooner, email us.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising, we don’t track you across other apps or websites, and we don’t use your photos to train AI models. Because nothing here follows you from site to site, there’s no cross-site tracking for a browser’s “Do Not Track” signal to turn off.

Retention & deletion

Designs and account data are kept while your account is active. You can delete your account yourself any time in Account → Delete account (in the app or on the web) — full instructions are at modscaper.com/account/delete. Deleting removes your profile, uploaded photos, designs, shared links and any quote requests your customers sent you right away, and cancels a subscription bought on our website.

It doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription — Apple bills those, so cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Apple and our payment providers keep their own records of your purchases, as tax and accounting law requires. A few things of ours outlive the account too: usage records, with your account removed from them, and our internal alert emails, which refer to an account only by its ID (the deletion page above has the full list). You can also email support@modscaper.com from your account address and we’ll delete your account for you.

Services we rely on

  • Our cloud database provider (sign-in, accounts, database and photo storage)
  • Google (the AI that creates designs and their build sheets, finds the car, its license plates, badges and lettering in each design, and finds license plates to blur)
  • Our payment processor (payments on our website)
  • Apple App Store (payments in the iPhone app)
  • Our in-app purchase service (manages App Store purchases; receives your account ID and purchase history)
  • Our hosting provider (hosting and cookie-free page-view analytics)
  • Our email delivery provider (sign-in codes and account emails)

Each receives only what it needs to do its job for Modscaper. Want the name of a particular provider? Email us and we’ll tell you.

Children

Modscaper isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
